Dear traveller,
Shungu Huasi in Cayambe, Ecuador was a memorable and remarkable experience. Our hosts, Marcello and Isabel and their staff were most gracious and hospitable. Marcello is an excellent Italian chef and we ate like kings daily at his restaurant. Marcello also acted as a personal tour guide throughout our visit to Ecuador, giving us the opportunity to see the absolute best of Ecuador. We travelled through diverse temperatures, flora and fauna, and a wide range of microclimates and enormous biodiversity, from the mountain corridor of the Mt. Cayambe glacier to the rainforest full of mysterious jungle and exotic animals.
The market in Otavalo was a 75¢ bus ride from Shungu Huasi and was approximately a 45 minute trip. We would like to have had more time at the market and would advise travellers to set aside at least 2 days in Otavalo for shopping. The prices were extraordinary and it was difficult not to buy one of every item we saw.

Les cuento quee estube en el Show de Flamenco que organiso Marcello e Isabel en su Hosteria estubo es-pec-ta-cu-lar, Fue verdaderamente maravillo. El sevicio es maravillo te sientes como en casa Marcello es una persona muy especial y cocina delicioso, su minestrone es el mejor, es carismatico te hace sentir suuper bien te recomiendo visitalo no te arrepentiras.  |
